DCP live concert in the atrium

Friday, January 14th, 2011

The first piece of documentation from the concert on Wednesday 12th January 2011;

This is a recording of a live performance of a new piece for multiple electric guitars, prepared amplifier, room mics and laptop, at the Atrium of Allison House, Edinburgh, on 12th January 2011. The guitars are fed through custom made software in max/msp, and are then sampled and looped in real-time from the input of room microphones and played back into the room in order to stimulate the resonant frequencies of the room, which emerge fully in the 3rd section of the piece. The guitarists here are Ally Winford (who cut his fingers bloody during the performance), Clive Mitchell and Hákon Pálsson. This is still work in progress, and this is the second live performance of the piece and it’s software.
